British Man Mauled By River Otters

England 0 - River Otters 1

Graham George Spencer was on his 6 a.m. morning routine walk that he has done for the past 5 months. Little did he know that a pack of wild otters lay in wait for his demise. Graham had lived in Singapore, Vietnam and never had a sight of otters at the park he regularly walked. On-goers were interviewed on what exactly went happened on this gruesome morning. The otters were eating fish in the middle of a trail that joggers and walkers regularly use. A jogger ran into the middle of the otters feeding on fish and it caused quite a stir with our furry little friends. Graham didn’t notice the otters as he walked through the trail. The otters charged Graham, biting his ankles, legs, and worst of all… his ass. Graham was bitten 26 times within the span of 10-15 seconds. Thankfully Graham had a guardian angel nearby. His friend was “15 paces away” from the site of the attack. His friend came running in, screaming and waving off the violent furry attackers.

Graham said that during the attack he was convinced he was going to lose his life. He said, “I was bitten 26 times in 10 seconds. If it wasn’t for my friend, I don’t think I’d still be here. I’d be dead.” The two friends ran to the visitor center to be treated for his Graham’s wounds. The visitor center offered to call an ambulance, not realizing that the Gleneagles hospital was right across the street. Graham received tetanus shots and oral antibiotics. He made return trips to the hospital three times. Resulting in $1,200 in medical bills…. Vietnamese authorities said that they are investigating the incident. Biologist believe that the island has around 10 different packs of otters, totaling around 90 otters. With recent waterway clean-ups, the otters have been returning with a healthy population. Early this year in May,, a 77-year-old man was bitten in the leg while swimming in the Kallang River in Singapore. The pack of otters in this specific attack are known as the “Zouk family”. The biologist believes that since it was dark and early in the morning, that the otters were confused and protecting their claim of fish. Vietnamese authorities have placed warning signs throughout the river warning on-goers of the dangerous river otters… Safe to say that the British have lost yet another battle.
